Led by Those Who’ve Been There
This course is taught by veterans, paramedics, firefighters, police officers, and EMTs who spent years responding to real emergencies. Their instruction carries not only technical skill but the wisdom of lived experience — calm under pressure, discipline in chaos, and compassion in crisis.
By teaching, they rediscover their sense of mission and belonging, transforming professional experience into community empowerment. For many instructors, this course becomes a pathway back to purpose after service.
Why It Matters
Every trained citizen strengthens the safety net around us all.
For the community: increased preparedness, stronger civic bonds, and faster emergency response.
For families: confidence that someone nearby knows what to do when help is minutes away.
For veterans and first responders: renewed pride, employment opportunities, and continued service through education.
This course reflects AFL’s belief that healing grows through purpose — by giving our heroes a chance to lead again and our communities the knowledge to save lives.
